Teaching Technology subjects following the competence-based approach to meet the requirements of implementing the 2018 General Education Program
Abstract
Competence-based teaching is the teacher's use of positive teaching methods, taking learners as the center, evoking learners' passion and specially creating conditions for organizing "learning with practice" so that learners can apply the knowledge, skills, and attitudes they have acquired to solve practical situations. In teaching Technology in high school, the structure of competences that need to be formed and developed for students includes general and technological competences. Technology education contributes to the formation and development of key qualities and general competences mentioned in the overall program. With emphasis on developing design thinking, technology education has an advantage in forming and developing problem-solving and creative competences.
