Organizing STEM lessons according to the technical design process following the learning-by-doing approach

Abstract

STEM has become popular in teaching at different educational levels in Vietnam recently, especially when implementing the new 2018 General Education Program. In addition to the perspective of interdisciplinary integration to solve practical issues, connecting learners to the practical meaning of the lessons. STEM also provides a condition for learning by doing through the organization of STEM activities to help learners form technical skills and habits, career orientation for the current generation of students. To clarify the application of the engineering design process, the article describes each step of the process for organizing STEM activities and gives an example to illustrate a lesson in 6th grade Natural Science.
