Improving English self-study ability of non-English major students in Kon Tum province: Current status and solutions

Abstract

Teaching and Learning English plays a critical role in education and training in our country. Aside from learning English at school, self-study is an effective option, but a complex process. The efficiency of self-studying English is primarily decided by the student’s active self-study. Various factors influence the development of students’ self-study capacity, ranging from internal to external. This article assesses the current situation of English self-study abilities among non-linguistic students in Kon Tum province. This is the basis for proposing solutions to increase of Kon Tum province’s English self-study abilities of non-linguistic students.
