Abstract

In response to the Party's policies and orientations on developing the digital economy in Vietnam, many opposing and hostile forces claim that “Vietnam’s development of the digital economy is a borrowing from capitalism”—arguing that a country with an underdeveloped agricultural background cannot build a digital economy. This is a completely misguided viewpoint, lacking scientific and practical grounds. This article, based on the dialectical materialist and historical materialist methodology of Marxism–Leninism, combined with logical, historical, analytical–synthetical, statistical, and comparative methods, clarifies that the development of the digital economy in Vietnam is a correct policy, consistent with both theoretical and practical foundations. At the same time, the article proposes key solutions: innovating communication and awareness campaigns, developing digital infrastructure and ecosystem, enhancing innovation capacity, advancing human resource development, and supporting digital enterprises.
