About the Journal

Vietnam Journal of Oncology is a prestigious journal of the Vietnam Cancer Association, publishing high-quality content in various specialties within the field of oncology, contributing knowledge to the development of Vietnamese medicine.

Purpose and Objectives:

  • To provide information on the activities of the Vietnam Cancer Association;
  • To publish regularly in-depth, specialized information; to introduce and publish scientific research; to exchange experiences, disseminate knowledge, and update scientific information domestically and internationally related to the field of oncology.

Vietnam Journal of Oncology is authorized to operate under Journal Operating License No. 312/GP-BTTTT dated October 24, 2024, issued by the Ministry of Information and Communications (effective from October 24, 2024, replacing Print Press Operating License No. 454/GP-BTTTT dated March 21, 2012, issued by the Ministry of Information and Communications to the Vietnamese Journal of Oncology).

  1. REGULATIONS ON SUBMITTING ARTICLES TO THE JOURNAL

Articles to be submitted to Vietnam Journal of Oncology must have good content, provide useful supplementary professional knowledge, and possess scientific value that contributes to the development of the oncology specialty.

  1. Requirements:
  • Research to be published in the journal must not be published or submitted in any other national or international journal.
  • Drafts must accurately identify the content and presentation according to the article format of the journal. Drafts that violate regulations, have inappropriate content, or infringe copyright will be rejected.
  • Authors must assume the responsibility before the public and readers for copyright, the content of the submitted draft (data collected and analysis of facts), and research ethics.
  1. Presentation Format

2.1. The content of the paper should have a concise structure, A4 paper size, font size 12 – Times New Roman, single spacing, and justified alignment. Margins: top 2 cm, bottom 2 cm, right 3 cm, left 2 cm. Illustrations and tables should be concise and clear:

- Title of the scientific research topic: Font size 13, uppercase, bold, centered;

- The word ABSTRACT is capitalized, bold, font size 11, and straight. The headings are in bold (including Problem Statement (if any), Objectives, Subjects and Methods, Results, Conclusion…).

- Section titles: uppercase, bold, numbered with Roman numerals from I to V.

- Subheadings: 1.1, 1.2, 1.3… bold, indented one tab; 2.1.1, 2.1.2… bold, italic, indented one tab.

2.2. Tables:

  • Table titles should be in lowercase, italicized, and bold. Tables should extend horizontally across the entire page. Repeat the table title if the content spans two pages.
  • Images extracted from other reports must be credited to the source, and the author of the article is responsible for obtaining permission to use images from other authors (if applicable). Use the terms Figure 1, Figure 2,… and Table 1, Table 2,… to list the order of the figures and tables. Tables must be clear and easy to read (avoid tables with too much content, difficult to read, complex, and with a font size no smaller than 10). Table titles should be placed above the figures, and figure and chart titles below the figures.

2.3. References Content:

  • The references cited in the article are studies updated within the last 5 years (no more than 10 references).
  • Font size 11, justified alignment.
  • References cited in the article must be listed in detail in the bibliography and must be cited in alphabetical order;
  • References cited in the article are numbered as listed in the bibliography at the end of the article (e.g., [1], [2],...) with consecutive numbers from 1 to the last reference cited.
  • Arranging Vietnamese references separately from foreign language references. Vietnamese references are listed first, and the order is based on the author's name for Vietnamese authors, the author's surname for foreign authors, and the first letter for the employing institution. Arrange Vietnamese and English references alphabetically.
  • Citing the references in the following order: Author's name (year), Article title, Journal name, issue number, first page, and last page of the article.
  • If the article has multiple authors, list only the first three authors. For the remaining authors, write "and collaborators" for Vietnamese references and "et al." for foreign-language references.

Here are some guidelines on how to list references:

  • Scientific articles: Author (year), Title, Journal name, Volume/Issue, Page numbers.
  • Books: Editor (year), Book title. Edition (only include if it is the second edition or later). Publisher. Place of publication. Pages cited.
  • Theses/Dissertations: Author's name (year), Thesis/Dissertation title, Degree level (undergraduate, master's, or doctoral), University name, University location.
  • Conference/Seminar proceedings: Author's name (year), Conference/Forum title, Location and time of organization, Organizing institution, Page numbers cited.

 

2.4. Page numbering: Center the page, at the bottom of the article.

2.5. The first page of the article must include: article title, author(s) name, workplace, address, phone number, and email address.

  1. Article title: Capital letters (Vietnamese and English).
  2. Author(s) name(s): Clearly state full name, academic title, degree, position, and workplace. Include the name, address, phone number, and email address of the author(s) responsible. Method of recording:
  • Author(s) A1, B2, and C3. Author(s) should be arranged in order of contribution from most to least, separated by commas. The first author is assumed to be the main author.
  • Agency(s) X, 2. Agency(s), Y, 3. Agency(s). If all authors belong to the same agency, numbering is not required.
  1. Location where the research was conducted/ where the research was presented or reported (if any)/ place of work.
