Việt hóa nhân vật từ phim Miss Granny thành Em là bà nội của anh
Abstract
In the current trend of globalisation, as culture is oriented to be developed into a promisingindustry in Vietnam, the influence from foreign cinematic trends is both inevitable and essential. In recentyears, filmmaking cooperation between Vietnam and South Korea has achieved notable milestones, with themost prominent example being director Phan Gia Nhat Linh’s Sweet 20 (2015) adapted from South Korea’sMiss Granny (2014). The success of Sweet 20 lies in its filmmaker’s ability to identify cultural similaritiesbetween Vietnam and South Korea to localise the characters, as reflected in the naming, background andpersonality development of the characters. These features represent a certain socio-historical period, resonating with local cultural identity and domestic audiences. Additionally, globalisation has helpedVietnamese audiences more receptive to new cultural interactions. Therefore, this is a valuable opportunityto push filmaking cooperation with foreign stakeholders, through which Vietnam can gain experience, fosterdomestic cinema development, and promote Vietnamese culture to the world through films.
