Bảo tồn nhà máy xe lửa Gia Lâm theo xu hướng kiến tạo không gian sáng tạo của Thành phố Hà Nội
Abstract
Industrial heritage refers to a type of cultural property that has been defined in various countries around the world. In Vietnam, there has been increasing attention paid to industrial heritages in recent years, leading to efforts to protect and promote their values. Gia Lam Train Factory - witness to the development of Vietnam’s railway system during French colonial rule, the post-war reconstruction era, and the industrialization drive of the socialist period - stands as an important testimony to the growth of the Vietnamese railway industry. Despite its current inactivity, its values necessitate preservation and repurposing into a vibrant creative public space that could serve as a hub for art, culture, and community
events. This approach aligns with the trend of developing Hanoi’s cultural industries and offers a suggestion for the government to make relevant policy decisions.
