Abstract

After the reunification of the country, our Party focused on building a socialist culture that is both unified and imbued with the national identity. Entering the renovation period (since 1986), the Party identified culture as a crucial driving force for socioeconomic development. Party resolutions have emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting the nation’s cultural identity while simultaneously absorbing the quintessence of human civilization. The Party has defined culture as the spiritual foundation of society, serving as both a goal and a driving force for socioeconomic development. Culture and people are the endogenous strengths for the country’s rapid and sustainable development, taking bold steps into a new era of national advancement. Key tasks include: arousing the patriotic spirit, building a new Vietnamese person, developing cultural sectors, and building a digital cultural environment. This article presents a detailed analysis of the Party’s leading role in building and developing Vietnamese culture since 1975, analyzing important historical periods, Party resolutions on culture, and important orientations for the future.
