Bảo vệ và phát huy nghề làm tranh dân gian Đông Hồ theo Công ước UNESCO
Abstract
Dong Ho, in Dong Khe village, Song Ho commune, Thuan Thanh district, Bac Ninh province, is a long-standing center for the production of folk paintings. Dong Ho folk paintings are known for their distinctive wood carving and printing techniques on colored boards, a tradition that dates back approximately five centuries. After many ups and downs, the Dong Ho painting tradition is at risk of disappearing and requires urgent protection. The 2003 UNESCO Convention on the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage provides a framework for member countries to implement protection programs. These programs, tailored to each country’s context, emphasize community participation in safeguarding intangible cultural heritage. This article examines measures to protect and promote the Dong Ho folk painting heritage, in accordance with the 2003 UNESCO Convention.
