Abstract
According to legend, Bao Ninh Vuong was a water god and a student of the renowned Confucian scholar Chu Van An. He is credited with bringing rain to save the people around the Linh Dam area from drought, and thus, he was worshiped by the local people to commemorate his merits. Over time, the belief in worshiping Bao Ninh Vuong has been maintained by the people to this day and has become an important part of their lives. The religious activities associated with the worship of this god are still vividly taking place, connected with many places and monuments of worship, such as Lan Dam Lagoon, Muc Lagoon, his tomb, Cung Hoang school, and especially temples and communal houses. Among these, the Tuu Liet communal house is particularly noteworthy. This article introduces the legend of Bao Ninh Vuong in Tuu Liet village, the Tuu Liet communal house, and the worship of this god in the village. The content of the article will contribute to clarifying a part of the belief in worshiping Bao Ninh Vuong in the cultural life of the people of Hanoi today.
