Abstract

Intangible cultural heritage plays an extremely important role in maintaining and developing the cultural identity of a nation. It also contributes significantly to affirming a country’s cultural position and strength on the international stage. In the context of today’s globalization, preserving and promoting the values of intangible cultural heritage has become an urgent task. This is crucial not only for maintaining cultural diversity but also for protecting the spiritual values, traditions, and customs of communities. Dong Anh District, situated at the northern gateway of Hanoi, is a region with a rich historical and cultural
heritage. While home to valuable tangible cultural heritage sites like the Co Loa Relic Site, Dong Anh is particularly renowned for its unique intangible cultural heritage, encompassing traditional festivals, crafts, and folk arts. However, amidst rapid urbanization and socio-economic development, these invaluable heritages face the risk of disappearing if not properly preserved and promoted. This article will analyze the current state of preserving and promoting intangible cultural heritage values within Dong Anh District, Hanoi. Through this analysis, the author will propose solutions for sustainably protecting and promoting these vital intangible heritages.
