Abstract

The Temple of Literature - Imperial Academy, a significant complex of religious and educational-historical relics of Vietnam, attracts a large number of visitors, especially students, for learning, research, and to pray for good luck. The Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of the Temple of Literature - Imperial Academy, under the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, is responsible for implementing the national policy on heritage education. Since 2016, the Center has developed and implemented over 30 heritage education programs for students of all levels. This article introduces a new approach to developing heritage education programs at cultural institutions, shares practical experiences, points out challenges in integrating them with extracurricular activities, proposes ways to design programs at museums and historical sites, and suggests innovations in heritage education methods.
