Bảo tồn mộc bản Phật giáo từ góc nhìn di sản tư liệu
Abstract
Buddhist woodblocks are currently preserved in numerous pagodas across Vietnam. These woodblocks represent a unique form of documentary heritage and constitute an essential component of Buddhist cultural heritage that needs to be safeguarded, maintained, and promoted in the contemporary context. Drawing upon UNESCO’s Memory of the World framework and the provisions of the Vietnamese Law on Cultural Heritage, this paper identifies Buddhist woodblocks as a significant source of historical and religious documentation, embodying outstanding cultural, artistic, and linguistic values. On that basis, the study proposes several orientations for the preservation and valorization of Buddhist woodblocks through an integrated approach that combines traditional conservation practices with modern technological applications and digital transformation. The paper further emphasizes a sustainable, community-based preservation model that engages Buddhist communities and local cultural stakeholders.
