Nghệ thuật tạo hình voi trong điêu khắc truyền thống Việt Nam qua khảo sát một số trường hợp
Abstract
The article studies the image of the elephant - a familiar mascot but rarely analyzed in depth in terms of visual language and aesthetic value. Based on the approach of aesthetic studies combined with symbolism, the qualitative study uses two methods: synthesis - analysis of documents and analysis of form - style, focusing on the elements of mass, proportion, composition and details. The results show that the elephant statue is expressed in a general, condensed mass language, expressing solidity, gentleness and sacredness. Regional differences create diverse styles: the elephant of Thieu Tri mausoleum is solemn, the elephant of Champa is soft and lively, the elephant of Hoang Mai communal house is respectful, the elephant of Hoang Xa is flexible. The study affirms that mass expression is the central element expressing aesthetic - symbolic value, contributing to clarifying the sustainable artistic value of traditional Vietnamese sculpture.
