Abstract
The article studies the exploitation of cultural and social resources in coastal areas for sustainable tourism development in Ben Tre province (after the merger on July 1, 2025, becoming Vinh Long). Based on evaluation criteria such as tangible heritage, intangible heritage, conservation level, safety and connectivity, the study has shown the great tourism potential of this area, while highlighting the challenges in preserving and developing cultural and social resources. The synchronous implementation of solutions will help enhance the competitiveness of Ben Tre tourism, while contributing to long-term socio-economic development
