Tín ngưỡng thờ Mẫu trong không gian văn hóa Bắc Ninh: Di sản sống và định hướng bảo vệ giá trị
Abstract
The article emphasizes the role of the Mother Goddess worship as a vibrant intangible cultural heritage intrinsically linked to the spiritual life, art, and communal identity of the Vietnamese people. Against the backdrop of the merger of Bac Giang province into Bac Ninh, the article proposes repositioning the spatial practice of Mother Goddess worship as an inter-regional heritage system. Based on the UNESCO dossier, the Law on Cultural Heritage, and practical results, the author recommends a heritage protection model that combines a legal framework, academic resources, and the practicing community. Consequently, the Mother Goddess worship will not only be preserved but also its values will be promoted in local cultural management and in building the identity of the new Bac Ninh province. The article contributes an integrated approach - interdisciplinary and inter-regional - to the strategy for protecting and promoting the values of Vietnam’s intangible cultural heritage within the new administrative and social context
