Abstract
The relationship between the traditional jewelry-making village of Chau Khe, Hai Duong ((Hai Phong now) and Hang Bac Street (Ha Noi) is a prime example of the close ties between traditional craft villages and commercial urban centers in Vietnamese history. Since the 15th century, this relationship has undergone various stages of development, reflecting the interaction between traditional craftsmanship and the demands of the urban market. This article will highlight the enduring connection between Chau Khe and Hang Bac, not only in terms of profession but also through several cultural aspects.
