Trịnh Công Sơn và các ca khúc phản chiến trước 1975 (nhìn từ diễn ngôn về thân phận con người trong chiến tranh)
Abstract
Although Trinh Cong Son (1939-2001) passed away nearly two decades ago, his songs continue to endure in the hearts of Vietnamese and international music lovers. During the Vietnam War, his powerful antiwar anthems resonated deeply, transcending national borders to be sung within antiwar movements in Japan, the United States, and across Europe. His song lyrics possessed a poetic quality, akin to literary works. Numerous books and articles have explored his life and work, including his antiwar songs, often examining his potential political perspectives within them, albeit without definitive conclusions. This article employs Discourse analysis, a theoretical framework of increasing interest in recent years, to analyze Trinh Cong Son’s antiwar songs. The aim is to gain a deeper understanding of their meanings, values, and the potential political viewpoints embedded within them through this analytical lens.
