Vai trò của phụ nữ S'Tiêng trong gia đình, cộng đồng và xã hội ở một số địa phương tỉnh Đồng Nai
Abstract
Dong Nai province is currently home to the Stieng community - an ethnic minority with a rich cultural identity and unique social organization. The study of the role of Stieng women in Dong Nai is conducted through two theoretical frameworks: “negotiating with the patriarchy” (Kandiyoti) and “silent groups” (E. Ardener). The article shows that Stieng women both face the traditional power structure and adapt to integration and family transformation; at the same time, the comparison of the patriarchal (Bu Lo) and matriarchal (Bu Dec) groups is a different gender negotiation strategy, reflecting the persistence of cultural norms and the proactive redefinition of the role of Stieng women, which has expanded their position in the household economy, rituals, clans and communities. In addition, the study proposes endogenous solutions to increase women’s empowerment, linking cultural preservation with sustainable development based on community internal strength.
