Research on manufacture of porous brick by using sawdust as an additive to create pores
Abstract
Brick is made of clay, formed, dried and fired fired at high temperature. This is a traditional material and has many advantages such as fire resistance, high temperature resistance and environmental sustainability,... The trend of making multifunctional ceramic materials is of interest and development. Currently, researchs are being done on manufacturing clay bricks to reduce load, increase heat insulation, fire resistance, increase sound absorption, etc. to make them durable in harsh environments. The common characteristic of the above features is that, those materials have many pores and high porosity. In this study, sawdust was used in replacement ratio (from 5 to 20% of clay weight) to create porous ceramic materials - high porosity from 35 to 70%, compressive strength product Rn ≥ 2 MPa, ... and evaluate the impact of sawdust content on some technological properties and microstructural properties of this product.
