Abstract
Bidding is considered one of the most common methods for contractors to acquire construction projects. This study identifies and analyzes the relationships between factors influencing the decision to participate in construction bidding by construction contractors in Civil Construction Projects in Ho Chi Minh City, providing recommendations for contractors to make informed decisions on whether or not to participate in bidding. Drawing upon previous research and consulting experts, the study identifies a total of 35 influencing factors on the decision to participate in construction bidding by construction contractors. The research results show that the top 5 factors influencing the decision to participate in construction bidding by construction contractors are: "Project scale", "Financial situation of the Investor", "Financial capability of the contractor when participating in the project", "Payment terms in the Contract", and "Experience and capacity of current personnel". Factor analysis reveals 7 main factor groups influencing the decision to participate in construction bidding by construction contractors in Civil Construction Projects in Ho Chi Minh City. It is hoped that this research provides a solid foundation to support construction contractors in the decision-making process on whether they should participate in bidding or not.
