Abstract

This article presents the results of an experimental study on the possibility of using sludge from Tan Rai Copper Joint Stock Company (Lam Dong) to replace natural sand in the manufacture of cement-free green concrete. Through a survey at Tan Rai Aluminum Processing Plant (Lam Dong), it was shown that the volume of sludge, tailings, etc. generated is about 650 thousand tons per year in the reservoirs and this amount of waste needs to be reused to reduce the pressure on the capacity of the storage reservoir. In this study, experimental methods according to current Vietnamese standards were used. The results of the study showed the possibility of using (0÷50)% of sludge and tailings from Lam Dong Aluminum One Member Co., Ltd. to replace natural sand in the composition of cement-free green concrete. The resulting green concrete mixture has good workability, slump from 14.5 cm to 20.0 cm, average compressive strength at 28 days of age reaching over 40 MPa. The research results show that utilizing waste sources, especially sludge combined with sea sand in Ho Chi Minh City area... is one of the effective solutions in the process of developing and promoting the sustainable circular mineral exploitation industry in Vietnam today.
