Abstract

The current as-built documentation process still faces several limitations, such as fragmented data, manual storage methods, difficulties in comparing design plans with actual construction, and a lack of coordination among project stakeholders. This study proposes a new as-built process that integrates Building Information Modeling (BIM) with Geographic Information Systems (GIS), combined with advanced technologies such as 3D laser scanning, photogrammetry, and point cloud data. Field data from real projects is incorporated into the BIM-GIS model to develop a spatially integrated and visualized digital process that effectively supports information control, comparison, storage, and sharing. The results show that this process enhances transparency, reduces errors, improves coordination, and shortens the as-built timeline. This process not only enhances project management quality but also represents a significant step forward in promoting digital transformation in Vietnam's port infrastructure construction sector.
