Research on using waste sludge as raw materials for producing fire clay bricks
Keywords:
Water treatment sludge, Baked clay bricks
Abstract
The sludge from the textile factory water treatment process has a composition that includes both organic and inorganic parts. The inorganic component contains mainly iron accounting for ~ 50%, alkaline earth (CaO+MgO) ~20% and small amounts of other oxides. The sludge itself has a calorific value of about 2000 kcal / kg to help reduce the amount of coal used, reduce fossil fuel use, reduce CO2 emissions. Bricks using sludge have better mechanical and physical properties than bricks that do not use sludge, shown in reaching the mark of 200 while the control brick only reaches the mark of 150.
