Abstract

Hospitals are one of the largest energy consumers, so saving energy in hospitals reduces operating costs, contributes to ensuring energy security, reduces greenhouse gas emissions and protects the environment. A survey of 03 hospitals in Hanoi shows that hospitals have implemented energy-saving solutions such as using energy-saving lights, and prioritizing daylighting and natural ventilation in non-infested areas, ... However, hospitals need to install many electricity meters in different regions, have a regular maintenance plan for technical systems and have an energy audit every 03 years/time to maximize energy savings. Energy-saving solutions in mechanical and electrical systems like heating ventilation air conditioning system, lighting system and other areas like kitchen and laundry areas are also pointed out in the study to enhance the quality of medical examination and treatment and reduce the hospital operating cost in hospitals.
