Cultural characteristics of vihara architechture in Vinh Long

Abstract

In recent years, there have been many studies on the architectural viharas of the Khat Si sect in Buddhism, but there is still a lack of research on the aesthetic values based on the symbolic structure of the works, which serves as the foundation for shaping and determining aesthetic value. In the field of architecture in the Southwest, particularly in the Vinh Long province, the vihara architecture can be considered a symbol of the cultural and civilizational beauty of the region. This scientific paper is carried out to find and explain the factors that create aesthetic value, offering a new perspective in the art of Buddhist architecture in particular and traditional Vietnamese architecture in general.
