Prediction model of load-deflection curve for geopolymer reinforced concrete deep beams

Abstract

This study aims to develop a new tool to predict load-deflection curve for GC deep beams. Several studies have been conducted on alkaline activated cement or geopolymer concrete (GC) at the material level. However, there are few researches on the behavior of reinforced geopolymer concrete structures. In the design codes, the contribution of shear to deflection is neglected, which significantly underestimates the total deflection. On the other hand, a lower modulus of elasticity might affects the shear strength of geopolymer concrete structures.
