Research on using coral ingredients replacing a part of common components utilized in cement concrete production
Abstract
The article presents some results in using seawater to replace fresh water, coral sand to replace natural sand, coral rock to partially replace natural stone in cement concrete production, testing options graded components for making concrete using seawater, coral sand with slump 40mm to 60mm, intensity up to 35MPa, the main steps in the concrete construction process using seawater, coral sand in order to compare the results of the slump of the concrete mixture using seawater, coral sand and concrete with conventional cement. This has a crucial significance in making use of available raw materials in coastal and island areas to make concrete which reduce the costs of the product and it is especially meaningful in terms of security and national defense as it helps consolidate defense works in the island area during unstable occasions of sea traffic in the region.
