Architecture of the vihara Ngoc Vien

Abstract

The Kharma Sect (HPKS) was founded by To Minh Dang Quang with the policy of combining the two sects of the North and South. With the motto "Connect the transmission of Sakyamuni Dharma". Although born late, HPKS has been developing strongly, mainly in the Southern region.

Vinh Long province currently has 205 worshiping establishments, of which 20 are Tinh amnels. The Vihara architecture in Vinh Long has a great influence because Vinh Long is the home of the Patriarch and is also home to the ancestral house of the sect, which is Ngoc Vien Monastery. This work was formed under the founding of the Patriarch and is considered to be the most valuable relatively complete model in the architecture of the mendicant sect in Vinh Long and the Southern region. This study will analyze the architecture of this Vihara from the master plan to the architecture and also decorative details. Since then, the architectural features and values of the building are identified as a basis for promoting the values of this building and other nunnery in the area.
