Abstract

Refractoryaggregates for the prodution high-grade refractory materials in the country currently must be imported while domestic raw materials are available. Tabular high-grade alumina refractory aggregate, whose main component is aluminum oxide, is synthesized by the method of agglomeration at high temperature, with special advantages such as: high degree of homogeneity, low impurities, high hardness and thermal shock resistance, low porosity and water absorption. This paper presents the results of study on the selection of raw materials, the influence of aggregate fineness, heating temperature, sintering additives on the ability to produce tabular. The topic has selected the main production materials are Nhan Co aluminum oxide and hydroxide for research. The research product sample achieved requirements such as density> 3,5 g/cm3,porosity < 3 %, hardness 9 Mohs. The product of the project is applied to manufacture refractory castableused at locations subject to harsh conditions in cement rotary kilns, steel furnaces. The results of the study show the potential of using domestic materials to manufacture high-grade refractory aggregates for the refractory, metallurgy, and cement industries.
