Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the role of online social support on mental health among female college students in Vietnam. In a sample of 987 female college students at two universities in Vietnam, this study found that female college students had low levels of online social support, moderate levels of psychological distress, and were somewhat satisfied with life. The results of this study also indicated that online social support has the potential to increase life satisfaction and reduce psychological distress among female college students. The findings of this study contribute to enriching the theory and practice of online social support, psychological distress, and life satisfaction among college students and the relationship between these factors. At the same time, the study’s results suggest measures to improve the mental health of female college students.
