Study on calculating the load bearing capacity of reinforced concrete structures subject to bending moment and axial force according to TCXD 5574-2018

Abstract

One of the new points of TCVN 5574-2018 (concrete and reinforced concrete structure design standard) stipulates that the calculation of reinforced concrete structures shall be carried out according to the nonlinear strain model (BDPT). However, the standard also allows for the calculations on the basis of ultimate internal force (NLGH) for some cases of rectangular, T-shaped, Ishaped cross sections... This paper presents these two calculation theories as well as the calculation examples. The comparison between 2 models BDPT and NLGH are highlighted.
