Abstract

The current status of numerous key projects, characterised by rising capital, escalating total investments, extended implementation timelines, and frequent adjustments, is increasingly highlighted in various articles and media outlets. In numerous provinces and cities, public investment projects require adjustments, capital disbursement is slow, and the quality of construction along with investment efficiency remains uncertain, which is still rather prevalent. The issue has been discussed in meetings among ministries and localities, highlighting that the project preparation stage is a contributing factor to the current situation that requires immediate attention and solutions for rectification. Additionally, there are several projects under the management board of Tan Chau town, An Giang province. The article examines the current state of project preparation at the Tan Chau town project management board in An Giang province. This analysis aims to evaluate the existing situation, offering a foundation for suggesting more effective project management approaches from the outset to guarantee success in terms of quality and timelines. Additionally, it identifies weaknesses in the current process and recommends essential improvements to enhance work efficiency.
