Expanding the sea space of the city, lessons from the experience of Rach Gia city, Kien Giang province

Abstract

The process of human sea encroachment for urban development goals, creating a new look for urban areas, developing the marine economy; increase the scale of land use and impact on landscape spatial forms associated with conservation and promotion of cultural values in coastal areas, always aiming to create a responsible and environmentally friendly living environment, form a civilized culture, of the marine ecological city. This article shares some of the successes achieved in the process of expanding the urban space of Rach Gia city in the direction of sustainable development with factors of socio-economic conditions, topographic conditions, natural and climatic conditions of the locality.
