Developing a steel structure bidding support model in Vietnam

Abstract

The strong development of industrial parks in Vietnam has increased competition in the field of steel structure workshop construction. This research is conducted to assist contractors in estimating the cost of constructing steel structure workshops, serving the bidding process as well as providing a basis for comparing costs between different workshop construction options. The study identified 16 main influencing factors and built a cost estimation model applying an artificial neural network (ANN) model on Rapidminer Studio software based on data from 40 completed projects. The contribution of the research is to save time and increase accuracy for bidding on steel structure workshops and create a premise for future studies.
