The reduction of vibration of simple pendulum in a plane frame structrues
Abstract
ABSTRACT
The reduced vibration of frame structures included a single pendulum affected by earthquake ground acceleration is presented in this paper. The structure based on a structural model of a multi-storey building in plane frame is built by the finite element method. External loads acting on the structures are ground acceleration of earthquakes. The single pendulum is also modeled with the required physical parameters and is mounted on the top floor of the structure. The system including a structure and a single pendulum subjected the ground acceleration is dynamically analyzed based on the principle of dynamic equilibrium and step by step solution in the time domain. The numerical results of the behavior of the structural system, including displacement and base
shear force of the structure, show the reduced effectiveness of the single pendulum.
