Development of Building Inventory for Can Tho City

Abstract

ABSTRACT

Can Tho has a history of nearly 300 years of development with a rich and unique architectural treasure. In the current stage of development, this treasure is not always appreciated and promoted. It is necessary to study, evaluate and propose solutions to deal with architectural values in Can Tho, expressed in not only buildings but also landscape architecture and infrastructure. The article introduces arguments for building a framework for evaluating architecture in different aspects and perspectives. From there, the analytical evaluation and ranking of typical architecture in Can Tho. This assessment is not 'heritage ranking' but serves a propose to support better solutions for landscape architecture organization in Can Tho in the new period which is another content of a larger reseach carried out by Can Tho city’s government.
