Urban Space in Ho Chi Minh city alleys

Abstract

ABSTRACT:

This article questions what the urban fabric of the Saigon’s allies is. We found that there are three types of alleys: Tricycle alley (very narrow), car alley (very wide) and tiny alley. Each alley is a neighbourhood, from 50 to 100 residents. 85% population of Ho Chi Minh City lives in the alleys. These findings have significance in preserving and developing town space in the alley in Saigon. The alley continues to play a historical role in diversifying housing types and a unique feature of Vietnam in the town studies literature
