Extrapolating load-settlement behavior of pile from static loading test results based on approximate function methods

Besides static loading test results reaching to fail, some analysis methods allow to evaluate the reasonable pile capacity even when testing load does not reach to the ultimate value. Extrapolating load – settlement of pile helps clarify the accuracy of these methods. Applying to unreached ultimate testing results, methods of Chin – Kondner, Decourt and criteria 80% Brinch Hansen give the more predicting value of pile capacity in comparison with ultimate loading value but extrapolating load – settlement behavior based on these approximate functions are suitable to the actual testing results.
