Urban development management towards green growth

Abstract

ABSTRACT

Nowadays, green growth is a global development trend that is expected to addresses development challenges in general. In which urban development management towards green growth is an important field to pursue this worldwide aim. Since most of current problems in the world which all countries and cities are facing today are related to urban growth. In the past period, the rapid development of urban areas and the strong growth of the urban economy have led to many consequences not only for urban life but also for global nature such as resource depletion, environmental degradation, inequality, climate change and other risks of losing control. Therefore, urban development management towards green growth has a very important and fundamental role to be able to control construction, development and consumption activities in the city systematically and throughoutly. The article studies how to manage urban development towards green growth based on the analysis and proposal of a system of criteria, including deepening the appropriated criteria to be applicable for the growth of urban areas in Quang Ninh province - one of the provinces with the fastest urbanization and most dynamic development in Vietnam.
