Digital transformation in urban management at Phu Quoc city, Kien Giang province

Abstract

ABSTRACT

In recent years, Phu Quoc city has received the attention and guidance of the central government, ministries, and departments; the determination in implementing of Kien Giang province, Phu Quoc city and the companion of  investors. Phu Quoc has made outstanding developments, becoming a prime focus in terms of investment attraction and urban development, as a premise for strong and sustainable development in the coming time.

Currently, Phu Quoc city has not applied much information technology (IT) to the management of construction planning and urban planning. The establishment of planning database system will serve as a basis for accurate assessment and
projection of the city's development ability, appropriate policy making, effective urban development management. It allows investment risks mitigation, contributes to building an urban planning information database and actively supports in publicizing the planning for people and groups to participate in urban development and monitoring the implementation. Therefore, the digital transformation for smart urban management in Phu Quoc city is necessary and needs to be implemented since the planning stage.
