Some issues related to rainwater treatment and reuse in urban areas

Abstract

ABSTRACT:

The article mentions some issues related to rainwater treatment and reuse in urban areas in Vietnam and the world. The research related to urban stormwater collection, treatment and reuse in Vietnam is still few and their application in practice is quite relatively new, although the legal document system in our country has some long – standing preferential and incentive policies in this direction. The content of the article refers to the international studies on the characteristic and quality of rainwater falling on the urban surface, the causes of urban rainwater pollution, the world experiences on the regulation of urban rainwater reuse. Moreover, these issues of stormwater collection designs and treatment systems in Vietnam andaround the world are also resumed, analyzed and evaluated. Inparticular, the article focuses on overviewing the problems ofrainwater collection and treatment on large areas of urban areas or industrial zones. The recommendations and proposals of the study are to contribute to the protection of existing water resources in the context of warning about water pollution and the risk of being in the group of countries with water shortage in the future.
