Study on factors impacting on the unconfined compressive strength of soil cement specimens

ABSTRACT

There are many factors affect to mechanical properties of soil cement mixtures. In this research, a series of unconfined compression tests have been performed in laboratory for this research on samples prepared with different conditions to find out reasonable parameters of soil cement mixtures. These effects of other important factors including curing time, dry weight ratio of cement to clay, water-clay to cement atio anh curing environment. The results provide a good reference chart to optimize the cement contents for improving the unconfined compressive strength of the soil cement specimens made of clays in Tan Phu Dong district, is 20%.
