Technology for soft ground treatment in the Mekong Delta

Abstract

ABSTRACT:

The Mekong Delta with the soft ground and soft sedimentary layers with high humidity, high organic content. Soft ground are understood as soils with small shear strength and large deformation, so construction works placed on soft ground often lose stability, much subsidence, affecting the works above and neighboring works if no measures are taken. Soft ground treatment aims to increase the bearing capacity of the ground, improve some mechanical properties of the soft ground such as: Reducing porosity coefficient, reducing compaction, increasing compaction, increasing deformation modulus, increasing soil shear strength,... In this paper, the authors present some technologies to treat soft ground in the Mekong Delta, the research results contribute to enriching reference sources for relevant units.
