Building theoretical basis on community participation in the management of public spaces that is suitable to the conditions of the old apartment buildings in Hanoi

Abstract

In the context of rapid urbanization and deep international integration, the issue of community participation in our country is increasingly concerned by society. In order to have solutions to promote the effectiveness of community participation in planning, urban management in general and public space management in old apartment buildings in Hanoi in particular, it is first necessary to build theoretical basis on community participation in accordance with the reality of socioeconomic development. Theoretical basis of community participation in the management of public space in accordance with the actual conditions of public space in Hanoi is the research result: the current characteristics of community participation, the positive value of traditional community participation and the selective application of the theory of modern community participation in the world.
