Research on comprehensive solutions to remedy problems of rubber bridge bearings used for girder bridge structures

Abstract

Rubber bridge bearing are considered to have good economic and technical indicators and are widely used for bridge structures.It is most commonly used in bridge structures with an average span length of 20 to 40m on both roads and railways. However, the actual use of rubber bearings has discovered some disadvantages such as aging and changes in physical and mechanical parameters of the material, displacement from the design position, shear failure... The article introduces the research results. Research, analyze the causes and propose solutions to overcome the existence of rubber ball bearings from the experience of some countries in the world and actual use in Vietnam.
