Abstract

ABSTRACT

The traditional architecture of the Southwest region is thecrystallization of wisdom and hard work of many generations living inthe Mekong Delta. Today, these architectures are heritages,expressing the cultural identity of the Southwest region. This type ofhousing architecture still retains many elements that are suitable tothe natural, economic and cultural conditions of Can Tho city,especially in the new countryside areas. The values of traditionalhouse architecture in this region need to be studied and promoted inorder to preserve the local architectural identity in the design andconstruction of houses that contributes to the development of Can Tho new countryside.
