The situation and solutions in the management of public cemeteries in Dong Anh district, Hanoi

Abstract

Dong Anh is a suburban district of Hanoi, currently undergoing rapid urbanization. In line with the city’s policy, Dong Anh has recently accelerated the planning, construction and renovation of public cemeteries and city-level crematoriums (Xuan Non). However, the management of cemeteries in the district still faces many difficulties, with many public cemeteries causing a lack of aesthetics in terms of space, architecture and landscape. This article analyzes the current situation in the management of public cemeteries in Dong Anh district and proposes some solutions for planning and construction, policy mechanisms and community participation to improve the effectiveness of cemetery management to meet the requirements of aesthetics, landscape architecture and environmental protection in Dong Anh district in particular and Hanoi capital in general.
