BA RIA - VUNG TAU’S LOGISTICS ACTIVITIES IN DEVELOPMENT OF SOUTHEAST VIETNAM’S MARITIME ECONOMY - CURRENT SITUATION AND POLICY RECOMMENDATIONS

Abstract

Ba Ria - Vung Tau is oriented to become a modern port city in Southeast Vietnam. The province always keeps an eye on development of logistics services by investing activities. This study was conducted to analyza the status of logistics activities in the province. Decisions and judgment are made based on collecting and analyzing secindary macro data, legal documents and other realated documents with the aim of inheriting common knowledge and applying it for comprehensive analysis. The results show that there are five big major problems in logistics activities of Ba Ria - Vung Tau: (1) Infrastructure; (2) Customs clearance services; (3) Size of enterprise; (4) Human resources; (5) Interre-gional connection. From these results, the study will propose policy recommendations to our government in order to develop Ba Ria - Vung Tau’s logistics activities.
