FACTORS AFFECTING CLIMATE CHANGE ON SECTIONS OF LAND MANAGEMENT (CASE STUDY ON MEKONG DELTA REGION)

Abstract

Climate change is present in the world and is concerned by mankind. That is because climate change has been having a strong and far-reaching impact on socio –economic life and the global environment. With the aim of fully synthesizing the influencing factors of climate change on land resource management and applying specifically to the Mekong Delta. The study used the following methods: collecting and evaluating documents, field surveys, consulting experts to summarize and propose some solutions to land management in the Mekong Delta in the future towards firm sustainability. The results have synthesized the influencing factors of climate change on the fields of land management such as: Increasing temperature; Changes in river water flows (floods, droughts); Sea level rise; Salinization; Rainfall change, Riverbank and coast erosion; and other erratic phenomena. At the same time, they evaluated and proposed solutions for future land management in the Mekong Delta such as: sustainable land management and use; management and use of agricultural land; management and use of land for urban development and rural residential areas; and industrial and commercial land use and management. The research results are the basis for the orientation formulation, land resource use planning and socio – economic development.
